Our Coaches
G2G was founded by Shawn Hearn in 2015 after years of helping people in their journey to find deliberate and purposeful lives. Shawn and the G2G Coaching Team have personally experienced the challenge of finding a healthy balance of one’s passion, need for income, and use of natural talents and capabilities. Our heart’s desire is to help others in this quest as we know it is both one of the most important, and underserved needs in finding true joy and satisfaction in life. Over the last five years, Shawn has worked with a variety of leaders developing the G2G curriculum into a unique framework to help clients identify their gifts, need for provision and weave them into a new way of thinking about their future. Shawn Hearn started his retail career at age 14 by founding a bicycle building business for local retailers that helped provide financing for his first car – a 1972 MGB in rough condition. After working his way through high school and college working part-time with Kmart, he joined their management training program and worked his way through store positions in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and Michigan. He spent several years in the headquarters location in rotational assignments of increasing responsibility including Manager of Store Operations, Director of Offshore Advertising, and Vice President of Human Resources. He was Vice President of Advertising when he left in 2002 to join Michael’s Arts and Crafts.
At Michaels, Shawn served as Vice President, Field Human Resources and later as Chief Human Resources Officer. He helped the Michaels organization transition from public company, to privately held, and back again to publicly traded. Supporting and coaching a wide variety of executives such as CEO’s, C-suite, and officer level VP’s highlighted for Shawn the challenges of being a good steward of one’s life vs. the perks and demands of a career and provision focused life. Shawn founded G2G after completing his own journey to find his intersection of his gifting, calling, and need for provision and helping dozens of others do the same.
Shawn has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Millikin University and a Master’s Degree in Biblical and Theological Studies from Dallas Theological Seminary. He is a founding board member of Guys Doing Life, a Christian Men’s Ministry, and has served a number of other faith-based and non-profit organizations as a volunteer and board member. He has a SPHR Certification, Prepare/Enrich Coach Certification, Budget Coaching Certification and is an ordained minister.
Shawn has been married to his wife Michelle for over 30 years. They have 2 adult children and a Lab/Rottweiller rescue dog. Shawn’s passion is to help others find and lead deliberate and purposeful lives.
